CodeForScience is about coding to help researchers do what they do best: make new discoveries and contribute to science. The distributed event series is open to developers with all levels of technical experience and subject matter expertise. Get involved to mash up, mine and visualize data across the scientific web – and receive prizes for your winning applications on ScienceDirect and Scopus.

Welcome to CodeForScience Singapore! Following last year's SGCodeJam24, a 24-hour hackaday at National University of Singapore, CodeForScience has come to Singapore with a bigger collaboration. This year, the application development will take place online and the competition period will be extended to four weeks from 27 August to 24 September.

1st Place: SGD 5,000
2nd Place: SGD 3,000
3rd Place: SGD 1,500
Special iDA Prize for the best use of government data (data.gov.sg): SGD 1,500

Mark Your Calendars! Following the successful SGCodeJam24, a 24-hour hackathon event in 2011 at National Singapore University, CodeForScience Singapore goes online in 2012 and the development period will be extended to 4 weeks for building your prize winning applications.
This event is jointly sponsored by Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and Elseiver and organized by National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University and Elsevier.
